Ski SWAP

Our SWAP this year was a big success.

We will be giving you an update on all club business at the "Build a Burger" party and again at the Spaghetti dinner in fall. Our gross was up and expenses were down.

Because of this success the cost of our ski trips will remain very low. We need your input. Would you like us to sponsor and extra trip or would you prefer that prices remain super low? Please help us decide by dropping a line to Sue Schmidt about this; schmidt1661@gmail.com

Tip!!!

Go through the kid's equipment at the end of the season and set aside or mark those things that you want to sell next year. Make notes on what new equipment will be needed and stick it in a ski boot. This will save you time next fall.

Thanks to all of those members who volunteered to help!

We could not have done it without you!

The Indianhead and Blackjack Bus Trip on Jan 7th, 28th and February 18th were a big success. The weather was warm and sunny and a great time was had by all.

It's not to late to sign up for our Brule trip, but please do so as soon as possible - The deadline is 3/4/12.

Please contact Rick Munz at 715-571-9240 or Rick.Munz@marathonelectric.com if you have any questions regarding the trips.

Or better yet print this PDF "Trip sign up form" and send it in today. This form was also included in the Sitzmarker.

All trips meet in the Shopko west parking lot (the one near Marathon Park) at 5:45 a.m.
Bus, lift tickets, lunch, movie and snacks on the bus are included.
Lunch for the Blackjack trip will be pizza.

Due to these great prices we cannot offer "guests" a seat on the bus. You must join the ski club to go on ski trips. Secret tip: the amount that we used to charge guests is the same as what it costs to join the club and a single membership is half that. Minors are allowed to become members, but they would need sponsorship of a responsible adult club member to attend ski trips.

We are now requiring that those skiers who are under 18, that attend our ski trips without their parent or guardian, have a responsible adult assume responsibility for them while on the trip. We will need their parents or guardians to fill out this Permission Form and send it along on the day of the trip.

Tic Acres Snow Shoe Classic

Sunday, February 26th, 2012
Meet at the Riverview Elementary School Parking Lot
12:00 Noon

On Sunday March 4th the most intrepid and versatile of us will meet at the South parking lot of Riverview school on North Troy Street for the Tic Acres Snowshoe Classic. Our Club president has 200 acres of land filled with lots of trees, rocks and dangerous places. Based on and around the Dells of the Trapp River, there are wonders like you have never seen before. Why last year we found the fin of a prehistoric and now petrified shark! The year before the Matel family ventured into the depths of the forest and came out - well different. Today both Holly and Matt Matel are taller and smarter! Will wonders never cease!?
Sign up by sending in the sign up post card or by calling: Andy or Sue Schmidt at 715-675-1661.

  • You will need your own snowshoes for this.
  • Bring water and snacks please!
  • Call Andy or Sue Schmidt for questions on this trip.
  • Long or old ski poles are VERY helpful.
  • Dress in layers.
  • Expect about a 2 mile off road jaunt and depending on snow conditions we may get to the Trapp River Dells.

Build A Burger

Sunday April 15th
Details coming in March.

Put down your tax calculating pencils and join us for an end of year "Build Your Own Burger Party".
Last year the party was held at the Wausau VFW. There was a Warren Miller movie playing, pictures of club members, lots of prizes and LOTS of camaraderie and friendship.
Plus, it is time for elections to the Board of Directors. If you want to be nominated please let me or any of the Current board know.
We also want direction as to where you would like the Club to go next year for ski trips.
